STRIDA, the most desirable folding bike in the world, was designed by a British design engineer, Mr. Mark Sanders in 1984. Its prototype was firstly shown in BBC ‘s Tomorrow’s World in 1985 and has been very popular in the UK and in other countries ever since. In 2002, one of the top 5 Taiwanese bicycle manufacturers, Ming Bicycle, took over the production of STRIDA and also established distributing channels in Korea, Japan, Netherlands, France and the US. Ming Bicycle bought the STRIDA brand in 2007 and has own the IP right since.

Ming Bicycle has production lines both in Taiwan and China. The delicate STRIDA bikes are assembled by the experienced operators in Taichung, central Taiwan. Every STRIDA is hand-made; therefore, only 65 bikes can be assembled a day and 20,000 bikes a year. Not only producing its own STRIDA, Ming Bicycle also assembles bikes for GT, MONGOOSE, and SCHWNN. Ming Bicycle manufactures 1.8 million bikes each year, 1.5 millions in China and 300,000 in Taiwan.
